The People’s Pope, as some call him, is kicking off his U.S. tour on Tuesday, but is adding one surprise stop to his list, Erie, PA. The pontiff will make an appearance Tuesday behind the bar raising money for Catholic Charities. “We’re incredibly excited to have him,” event organizers said. “We didn’t even reach out to him. We wanted to do it, and just prayed about it. His people called us last week to schedule. Spooky.” They went on to say that he has been looking forward to it and has been practicing bartending tricks for hours on end in his private time. “People are going to be really impressed,” the organizer went on. “He has this one trick where he throws the bottle in the air, stops it mid-air, and pours the drink without touching it. Unbelievable.” Despite the short notice, tickets for the event are already sold out and after market values are soaring. The stop will cut in to the Pope’s stay in Washington D.C. and his meeting with President Obama is still yet to be rescheduled.
