Erie TV Station Replaces News Broadcasts With Powerpoint Of Newspaper

One local television station is taking a new approach to news, by eliminating all on air personalities. Instead the station will air a thirty minute Powerpoint presentation of the Erie Times News from that day. “It’s a move that we’ve been eyeing for a long time,” the station’s V.P. told us. “The research shows that viewers find the paper a much more credible source of news anyway, so we’re just giving the people what they want.” The move doesn’t come as much of a shock, though, as the station has been taking cost cutting measures for years. “We’ve essentially been a television version of the newspaper for years now, anyways. This just helps us squeeze out lesser content and make more money – I mean provide our viewers with a better experience!” he said before abruptly ending the interview. The new version of the news will being on October first and will be followed by the new local program Color Bars Bonanza.

“The research shows that viewers find the paper a much more credible source of news anyway, so we’re just giving the people what they want.” The fact is people unfortunately think of the Erie Times as a “credible” news source. That is where the problem begins. Great observation by Mock Erie.

The Erie Times-Olds is not a very credible source, but with the quality of some of the local TV newscasts, the ratings would likely go up.
